“I am not a clown!” Maddow blasts Maddow, Maddow takes on Trump

MSNBC host Maddow ripped into her network’s “live” impeachment hearings on Wednesday, saying they were just “another step in the swamp” in a “media circus.”

“This is another step in an endless, vicious, and dishonest process,” Maddow said on the “Today” show.

“It is just another step.

I have been saying this for months and months and this is just yet another step, another step to get to the bottom of this.”

She added, “I do not believe in this circus.

I do not have to believe in it.

And it is the same thing that the swamp is, which is just a very, very sad and disgusting thing.

I think that the president and I, as Americans, should do our jobs, and we should stop the media circus.”

In a scathing critique of the media, Maddows panelists pointed to a “proudly liberal” outlet like the New York Times, Politico, The Hill, The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Politico Magazine, the Huffington Post, Salon and the Daily Beast, among others.

“I am the kind of liberal that is going to go out and do my own reporting,” Maddows said, citing The New York Daily News, Politico and Politico Magazine.

“They’re all liberal publications, they’re all full of liberals.

They’re all owned by the same people, they are all owned with money from Wall Street.

They don’t even try to report the truth.

So, you know, it’s really hard to know what to think, but this is exactly what the swamp needs.”

She continued, “And I just want to be clear, I do think that there is a real problem.

And we have to deal with it.

But I don’t think the media is going, ‘Hey, we’re going to sit back and take it.’

I think the swamp, we are the swamp.””

We are the party that is on the wrong side of history,” she added.

“And the swamp can’t sit back, it needs to be kicked out of the party.”

She also noted the “very, very low” ratings of the hearings, which have been met with mixed reviews on social media.

“The fact that the ratings for these hearings are so low is, in my view, very telling,” Maddown said.

“I mean, the stakes are too high, I think, for the Democrats to allow themselves to get away with it.”

“They are letting the American people down,” she concluded.

“We are going to get back to the swamp.

We are going.

We’re going.”
