Spacex is set to launch a new channel dedicated to catering to Indian viewers.
The channel, called Space TV, is expected to launch in the next three to six months, Spacex spokesperson, Shreya Naidu said on Friday.
The channel, which will be available in Hindi and English, will be a separate offering for the Indian market, Naidus said.
“We have plans to offer our channel in different languages and to cater different markets.
In the near future, we will also introduce a live TV service in India,” she added.
The launch comes amid the rise in viewership of Indian TV shows such as “Pooja” and “Shindra.”
A survey conducted by TVPanchayat found that more than 50% of Indians tuned in to Indian channels last year.
India’s largest cable channel, Airtel, plans to launch two online channels on its platform to cater for Indian subscribers.
